The Korea Federation of Small and Medium Business is increasing its entry-level hiring and seeking hands-on talent needed in the age of artificial intelligence (AI). It will increase the number of hires by 30%, from 20 to 26, while also shifting its recruitment assessment to focus on job competencies. According to the small and medium-sized business sector on the 8th, the Federation is openly recruiting 26 new employees (Grade 5) for 2027. The recruitment drive is intended to help create jobs for young people and secure talent capable of responding to a rapidly changing industrial environment, including the digital transition.
The Federation is particularly strengthening its assessment of practical skills during recruitment. It is eliminating the essay test from the existing written examination and introducing a new “Job Competency Assessment.” Applicants can choose one subject from business and economics or digital and industrial technology. The aim is to broadly assess the abilities of applicants with diverse academic backgrounds and work experience.
The range of preferred certifications is also being expanded to include certifications in information technology (IT), such as the Information Processing Engineer and Big Data Analysis Engineer. The Federation will allow bonus points from up to two certifications to be combined, giving preference to applicants with digital technology and data-use skills.
This recruitment is for general office positions, and anyone without grounds for disqualification under the Federation’s personnel regulations may apply.
The recruitment format is a Grade 5 internship program linked to regular employment. Those selected will complete a practical, work-focused internship in an operating department for about 11 weeks. Interns who receive strong evaluation results will then be hired as regular employees in May 2027.
Park Kyung-mi, head of the Federation’s HR office, said, “We are looking for people with the passion and sense of responsibility to think through and help solve the on-the-ground problems facing small and medium-sized businesses,” adding, “We hope many creative and ambitious candidates will apply and lead new changes in small and medium-sized businesses through data-driven thinking and digital capabilities in a rapidly changing industrial environment.”
Applications will be accepted from the 13th through the 27th. Further details are available on the Federation’s dedicated job application website and its website.
