[Financial News] SK Intellix has launched a collaboration to expand the use of its artificial intelligence (AI) wellness robots into senior care. The company plans to supply AI wellness robots to care facilities, including long-term care hospitals, and then provide services needed in senior-care settings, such as fall prevention.
According to industry sources on the 8th, SK Intellix has agreed to jointly develop a senior-care solution based on its AI wellness robot Namu X with Daesang Wellife, Hangang System and Rexsoft.
Namu X offers a range of wellness solutions based on a human-centered AI experience. It features an “Air Solution” that uses autonomous driving and 100% voice control to detect indoor air pollutants and purify the air. It also offers features such as “Vital Signs Check,” which uses contactless remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) technology to measure five health indicators: △body temperature △intensity of cardiac activity △pulse △oxygen saturation and △stress level.
An SK Intellix representative said, "Since South Korea entered a super-aged society, problems such as a shortage of senior-care workers and heavy workloads at care facilities have emerged." The representative added, "Through multilateral collaboration, we will develop an AI-based senior-care solution and take it through validation and commercialization."
SK Intellix will help coordinate the direction of a validation project for an AI-based senior-care solution and take part in service planning while supplying Namu X. Daesang Wellife plans to use its distribution network, which reaches 75% of care facilities nationwide, to secure sites for the project.
Meanwhile, Hangang System will use its network of about 14,000 care institutions nationwide, where it has supplied its long-term care ERP solution Carefor, to connect project sites and gather feedback from the field. Rexsoft will handle service planning and the development of a data integration system, among other tasks.
Kim Hyung-jin, head of SK Intellix’s Namu X business division, said, "Building on the expertise and business networks each company brings, we will advance the senior-care solution and strengthen our business competitiveness in the related market."
