[Financial News] Madison Huang, the eldest daughter of NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, has canceled her planned visit to South Korea. Madison Huang is a senior director of product marketing for Omniverse and Robotics at NVIDIA.
Government and information technology (IT) industry sources said on the 8th that Madison Huang had planned to visit South Korea that day to consult with relevant government ministries and attend NVIDIA AI Day Seoul 2026, which is being held at COEX in Seoul on the 9th and 10th.
She is reported to have canceled her plans to visit South Korea due to family-related circumstances. The specific reason has not been disclosed, and the event is expected to proceed as scheduled even if Madison Huang does not attend.
The cancellation of senior director Madison Huang’s trip to South Korea became known amid allegations that her father, NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang, had previously been romantically involved with a businesswoman suspected of having been recruited by a Chinese intelligence agency. However, it has not been confirmed whether the two matters are connected.
The United Kingdom’s Financial Times (FT) reported on the 7th (local time) that the U.S. government had looked into whether Jensen Huang and Alice Huang (Chinese name: Huang Le), an executive at Singaporean data center company Megaspeed International, had been romantically involved in the past. FT said the U.S. government believes the two were indeed in a relationship.
FT reported that U.S. officials had prepared a memo based on intelligence gathered by intelligence agencies early this year. U.S. intelligence agencies reportedly suspect that Alice Huang, a Chinese national, may have been recruited as a spy by China’s main intelligence agency, the Ministry of State Security (MSS).
There were also allegations that Chinese intelligence agencies sought to use Alice Huang to obtain information on U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors and exert influence so that NVIDIA’s advanced semiconductors could be supplied to China.
NVIDIA did not respond to questions about the memo prepared by the U.S. government, including its account of the relationship between Jensen Huang and Alice Huang. The White House and the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) also did not issue official statements on the allegations.
