Seegene said on the 6th that it recorded consolidated revenue of 123.1 billion won and operating profit of 11.6 billion won in the third quarter of this year. Revenue rose 8.4% and operating profit increased 21.2% from the same period a year earlier.
Growth was led by non-respiratory diagnostic product lines, including human papillomavirus (HPV), sexually transmitted infections (STI) and gastrointestinal (GI) products. Third-quarter sales of non-respiratory products totaled 62.4 billion won, up 12.3% from the same period a year earlier. Growth by product was 19.7% for HPV, 12.6% for GI and 6.7% for STI.
Europe accounted for the largest share of sales by region, at 59.1%, followed by Asia (15.8%), Latin America (13%), Korea (7.3%) and North America (4.8%).
Seegene is expanding its direct-sales operations in Europe, its largest market. Its French subsidiary, whose establishment was announced last December, began direct sales in July this year. The company plans to shift from a sales structure centered on local distributors to one centered on its subsidiary, expanding into areas such as public tenders and HPV testing. It plans to develop the French subsidiary, along with its subsidiaries in Italy and Germany, into key hubs for its European business.
Seegene is also developing next-generation diagnostic solutions. The statistical analysis platform STAgora, based on PCR test data, is preparing to launch services in Korea and abroad in 2027, with the aim of obtaining ISO certifications related to information security and personal information protection by the end of this year. The company also plans to conduct on-site evaluations of its unmanned PCR testing automation system, CURECA, at testing institutions in Korea and abroad.
A Seegene representative said, “Our key non-respiratory product lines are growing steadily, diversifying our revenue base,” and added, “We will strengthen our medium- to long-term growth drivers by expanding the markets for existing products and advancing our next-generation diagnostic solutions.”
