Mechanical Equipment Construction Mutual Aid Association marks 30th anniversary, unveils vision for the “next 100 years”

[Financial News] The Mechanical Equipment Construction Mutual Aid Association is unveiling a vision for the next 100 years as it marks its 30th anniversary.
The association said on the 6th that it will hold a ceremony marking its 30th anniversary at 10:30 a.m. on the 12th in the Grand Ballroom of The Westin Josun Seoul in Seoul, with support from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport. The ceremony was organized to look back on 30 years of working alongside the mechanical equipment industry and share with the industry a blueprint for the next 100 years. Association Chairman Choi Un-gu will deliver commemorative remarks, and Operating Committee Chairman Heo Yong-ju will give the welcoming remarks. National Assembly Speaker Cho Jeong-sik will send congratulatory remarks by video, and lawmakers Chung Il-young and Son Myoung-soo, among others, will also offer congratulatory remarks.
The event will begin with an opening performance by the Hanbit Arts Troupe. After the introduction of the guests and the commemorative and congratulatory remarks, 22 people recognized for their contributions will receive commendations and plaques of appreciation. After attendees watch a video celebrating the 30th anniversary, a performance featuring lasers shooting into the sky will mark the proclamation of the association’s vision for the future. The event will conclude with a luncheon accompanied by a jazz performance.
The standing of the mechanical equipment industry rose further when the Mechanical Equipment Act took effect on April 18, 2020. Under the law, the management entities of buildings with a total floor area of at least 10,000 square meters and apartment complexes with at least 500 households must appoint a mechanical equipment maintenance manager or hire a specialized firm, and have performance inspections conducted at least once a year. As maintenance of building systems such as heating and cooling, ventilation, and water supply and drainage became institutionalized by law, the market for equipment installation and maintenance also expanded. The mutual aid association provides financial support, including guarantees and loans, to mechanical equipment construction companies.
