The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said on the 6th that it will recruit youth panelists from the 9th through the 22nd. Those aged 19 to 39 who are interested in land, infrastructure and transport policies may apply. The ministry will select around 25 advisory group members and up to 1,000 online panelists.
Applicants to the advisory group can apply through the “Youth Talent DB.” They will be selected through a document review and interview process, and the term will run from January through December 2027.
The advisory group will discuss agenda items proposed by the departments responsible for the policies and develop recommendations for improvement. It will form around five subcommittees based on members’ interests and conduct one policy research project a year. Individual proposals for policy planning and promotion will also be accepted on an ongoing basis.
Presenters and participants in discussions will receive meeting allowances, and transportation expenses will also be covered when necessary. The ministry will issue certificates of participation and pursue awards for outstanding advisory group members.
Applications for the online panel can be submitted through the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s “Ontong Plaza.” Selected panelists will take part in online surveys on key policies at least once a month, and those who participate three or more times can receive a certificate of participation. The ministry plans to conduct panel surveys on important policies to gather a broader range of young people’s views.
Kim Heon-jeong, director general of the Planning and Coordination Office, said, “Young people know best about policies concerning the homes they live in and the transportation they use,” adding, “Starting with this fifth group, we will discuss policies related to young people with them at key stages and ensure that the results are adequately reflected in actual policies.”
