[Financial News] IPARK Hyundai Development Company conducted inspections of its construction sites ahead of winter. The company visited a civil engineering site nearing completion and an apartment site in the early stages of construction to review risks at each stage of work and the state of worker health management.
According to IPARK Hyundai Development Company on the 6th, CEO Jung Kyung-gu visited the Gimhae Urban Planning Facility civil engineering site and the Gimhae Sinmun Central IPARK site on the previous day, the 5th.
The inspection was arranged to review worker health management and key work areas as daily temperature swings grow larger. Ahead of full-scale winter inspections, which are typically conducted starting in December, the focus was on identifying risks at each site in advance.
Key executives attended the inspection, including Chief Safety Officer (CSO) Yang Seung-cheol, Infrastructure Division Head Jo Heung-bong, PD Lee Sang-young, and Safety and Quality Division Head Han Dong-jun.
CEO Jung first visited the Gimhae Urban Planning Facility civil engineering site, which is nearing completion, and checked the earthworks and grading, landscaping layout, and road paving. He reviewed the finishing status of key work stages and inspected construction quality ahead of completion.
At the Gimhae Sinmun Central IPARK site, he then focused on reviewing measures to prevent winter accidents. Earthworks, including pile driving and retaining-wall work, are currently underway there. He also checked whether routes for workers to move around had been secured to prevent icy conditions at the worksite and slip-and-fall accidents.
CEO Jung said, "We must follow the fundamentals and principles and create a high-quality site that puts safety and quality first." He added, "To do that, we need to establish a prevention-focused management system tailored to the characteristics of each stage of work at every site, from the start to completion, and proactively identify and prepare for even minor risk factors."
IPARK Hyundai Development Company is also expanding its use of digital technology to strengthen safety management at construction sites. It uses drones to check blind spots at sites and is developing a new system to monitor workers' locations. It is also pursuing the introduction of an intelligent video surveillance system based on artificial intelligence (AI) CCTV.
The company also plans to continue regular and ad hoc site inspections by executives through the end of the year, strengthening safety management at each stage of work and inspections of construction quality.
