[Financial News] The Korea Credit Guarantee Fund will share its K-policy finance expertise with the world.
According to KODIT on the 6th, the knowledge-sharing program, the KODIT Institutional Knowledge Transfer Project, was established to share its experience supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and its know-how in operating policy finance with relevant institutions overseas. It supports improvements to guarantee schemes and financial systems in partner countries.
KODIT launched the institutional knowledge transfer project earlier this year and selected Uzbekistan Enterprise Development Corporation (EDCOM) as a partner institution, in line with the government’s drive to strengthen financial diplomacy in Central Asia.
KODIT then analyzed Uzbekistan’s financial environment and policy needs. Based on its findings, it concluded that expertise in startup support and digital transformation needed to be transferred, and is pursuing a customized research project to improve local systems.
KODIT invited nine department heads and working-level staff from EDCOM responsible for areas including guarantee operations and risk management for five days starting on the 2nd, and held practical, hands-on training. The delegation studied the current operation of KODIT’s credit guarantee system, its risk management system, and examples of AI and digital transformation. It also visited various KODIT sites that support startups, including Front1 and the Mapo Branch.
KODIT has participated in the Ministry of Economy and Finance’s Knowledge Sharing Program (KSP) since 2007. It has supported the introduction and development of credit guarantee systems in 10 countries, including Vietnam, Cambodia and Kazakhstan. In 2024, it carried out consulting to improve the risk management system of Kazakhstan’s DAMU Fund, commissioned by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
A KODIT official said, “This project will provide an opportunity to take global economic cooperation to the next level by drawing on the policy finance capabilities KODIT has built up over the past 50 years.”
