[Financial News] GS E&C has introduced new workwear for its field staff ahead of the winter season. Some employee feedback was incorporated into the new workwear. The company plans to reuse the existing uniforms and take the lead in resource circulation. GS E&C said on the 6th that it had introduced three types of workwear: spring/fall jackets, fall/winter jackets and winter parkas. The company focused on improving warmth, mobility and ease of wear. Distribution of the spring/fall jackets has been completed.
GS E&C had previously gathered feedback from its worksites through employee surveys and review sessions. Around 2,000 employees participated in a vote on design preferences. The company plans to continue incorporating feedback from worksites after the new workwear is distributed.
The existing workwear will be recycled. Usable leftover uniforms will be reused, while the company is considering converting existing stock that is difficult to use, as well as worn-out uniforms collected from worksites in the future, into recycled fiber panels. Recycled fiber panels are made by processing and compressing waste textiles. They are used to make furniture such as desks, chairs and storage cabinets, as well as interior finishing materials.
GS E&C plans to step up its efforts to put environmental, social and governance (ESG) management into practice through this initiative. A GS E&C representative said, "We will continue to reflect the voices from our worksites and strive to ensure that our employees can work in a safe and comfortable environment."
