[Financial News] Han Sung Motor, an authorized Mercedes-Benz dealer, has received close to 1,300 preorders for the next-generation electric vehicles, the all-new electric CLA and the all-new electric GLC. This comes about seven months after the company introduced Mercedes-Benz’s new sales approach, Retail of the Future (RoF), which puts the customer experience from consultation through delivery ahead of price discounts.
On the 6th, Han Sung Motor said that the enhanced sales system it adopted after transitioning to RoF was translating into orders.
RoF moves away from the previous sales approach centered on price discounts and focuses on delivering a consistent premium experience throughout the process, from exploring vehicles and consultations to signing a contract and taking delivery. Han Sung Motor said it had been strengthening its sales system through its 19 showrooms nationwide and the consultation skills of professional sales consultants since implementing RoF on April 13.
Showroom Customer Experience Managers (CXM) oversee the entire purchase process for visitors, from consultations and test drives through delivery. The Business Development Center (BDC), which provides 24-hour consultation support, is also broadening customer touchpoints beyond the showrooms. Han Sung Motor said it was turning customer interest into preorders by offering tailored consultations focused on factors considered when purchasing an electric vehicle, such as driving range, charging performance and digital features. The company said it was continuing its order momentum with the CLA and GLC, following the New Mercedes-Benz S-Class launched last August.
The all-new electric CLA and GLC are key electrified models built on Mercedes-Benz’s next-generation electric vehicle architecture. They are equipped with the in-house-developed MB.OS vehicle operating system, fourth-generation MBUX infotainment, advanced driver-assistance technology and an 800V fast-charging system.
Han Sung Motor plans to expand its customer base for premium electric vehicles by combining its imported-car sales expertise, built up over roughly 40 years since its founding in 1985, with an operating system centered on customer experience.
Han Sung Motor CEO Marco Kim said, “It is significant that our efforts to strengthen a customer-centered sales system since the transition to RoF have led to strong orders for major new models, including the CLA and GLC, as well as positive sales momentum.” He added, “Going forward, in line with RoF’s operating direction, we will continue to strengthen our professional consultation capabilities and differentiated premium purchasing experience, and further improve customer satisfaction and sales competitiveness.”
