Han Dong-hoon as KOSPI 5,000 falls below the mark: “President Lee should personally disclose the NPS’s situation”

[Financial News] As the KOSPI fell below the 5,000 mark on the 6th, independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon urged President Lee Jae Myung to “personally disclose what situation the NPS, which went all-in on Samsung Electronics and SK hynix, is in now.”
Han said on social media (SNS), “The KOSPI 5,000 mark just collapsed. Overnight, the Nasdaq plunged 5.5%, and the U.S. semiconductor index plunged more than 12%.”
He said, “KOSPI 5,000 was a figure the Lee Jae Myung administration had made a national policy goal,” adding, “A number you reach but then fail to maintain is worse than one you never reached, because it carries the people’s tears of blood.”
He continued, “Last March, I said, ‘What’s driving the rise right now is the semiconductor cycle, so don’t take credit for it—prepare for the downturn.’ The government did not prepare. Instead, it kept the NPS holding onto shares it should have trimmed while stock prices were rising, and increased the NPS’s allocation to domestic stocks further, going all-in on Samsung Electronics and SK hynix.”
Han pointed out, “As a result, 182 trillion won vanished in just three and a half months. That figure is from before this week’s plunge. We are now seeing the cost of using the people’s retirement security as collateral for speculative gambling.”
