Johnny Depp’s ‘Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’ hits theaters on November 11.

[Financial News] From a comedy about tensions between a prospective father-in-law and daughter-in-law to a fantasy adventure with Christmas ghosts, films for the whole family are coming to theaters in November.
According to Lotte Entertainment on the 6th, Johnny Depp’s ‘Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’ will open on the 11th, while ‘Meet the Parents 4,’ starring Ben Stiller and Ariana Grande, will open on the 25th.
A Gothic fantasy adventure based on Charles Dickens

‘Scrooge: A Christmas Carol’ is a Gothic fantasy adventure based on the novel ‘A Christmas Carol’ by British author Charles Dickens. The film brings to the screen a story that moves between reality and fantasy, along with the Christmas ghosts from the original, which has been adapted time and again for film, animation and musicals.
One Christmas Eve, ghosts appear before the eccentric old miser Ebenezer Scrooge, setting in motion a story that will transform his life. Johnny Depp plays Scrooge. Having portrayed distinctive characters such as Jack Sparrow in the ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ series, Willy Wonka in ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ and Edward Scissorhands, he now transforms into an old miser.
The cast includes Ian McKellen from ‘The Lord of the Rings’ series and Rupert Grint from the ‘Harry Potter’ series, as well as Sam Claflin and Daisy Ridley. Ty West, who directed the horror films ‘X,’ ‘Pearl’ and ‘MaXXXine,’ is at the helm.
Ben Stiller vs. Ariana Grande: Tensions between a prospective family

‘Meet the Parents 4’ follows the chaos that ensues when a son-in-law who once struggled to win his family’s approval becomes a prospective father-in-law.
In the previous films, Greg (Ben Stiller) struggled to win the approval of his strict father-in-law, Jack Byrnes (Robert De Niro). Now he finds himself scrutinizing his son’s girlfriend.
The story begins when Greg’s son Henry (Skyler Gisondo) introduces his girlfriend Olivia (Ariana Grande) to the family. As usual, Jack puts Olivia to the test with his exacting standards, but soon warms to her as she responds with intelligence and ease.
Greg, who had a hard time winning his family’s approval, resents how easily Olivia gets close to them, unlike him. Olivia, for her part, stands up to Greg, who is overprotective of his son, setting off a tense standoff across three generations.
John Hamburg, who worked on the screenplay for every previous installment, directed the film. Ariana Grande joins Robert De Niro, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson.
