[Financial News] HiteJinro Group declared its commitment to “principled management,” pledging to conduct business fairly and transparently.
According to industry sources on the 6th, HiteJinro Group held a “Principled Management Declaration Ceremony” on the 5th at HiteJinro’s Seocho headquarters in Seocho District, Seoul.
The ceremony was attended by key executives, including Jang In-seop, CEO of HiteJinro Co., Ltd., and the heads of each affiliate. It began with a discussion of the rationale for pursuing principled management, followed by the reading of the “Principled Management Declaration” and its signing by the heads of each affiliate.
The Principled Management Declaration set out five key principles: complying with laws and principles; conducting business fairly and transparently; respecting all stakeholders; preventing illegal and improper conduct and taking responsibility for it; and leading by example as executives.
In particular, the group decided to strictly comply with fair-trade laws and regulations, including those governing internal transactions, and to strengthen prior controls on transactions with related parties to prevent illegal and improper conduct.
Going forward, HiteJinro and its affiliates plan to make the declaration’s principles the basic standards of conduct for all business activities and to continue practicing principled management.
Jang In-seop, CEO of HiteJinro Co., Ltd., said, “For HiteJinro, which is looking beyond its 100th anniversary and preparing for its next 100 years, sustainable management is not an option but a core element of corporate competitiveness,” adding, “We will continue to advance our environmental, social and governance (ESG) management and grow sustainably as a company trusted by diverse stakeholders and society.”
