According to the insurance industry on the 6th, Toss Insurance held an opening ceremony on the 5th at its Daegu office in Songrim Tower, Jung-gu, Daegu Metropolitan City. The event was attended by CEO Cho Byeong-ik, employees, insurance agents and representatives of partner companies.
With this, Toss Insurance has secured a presence in all six major metropolitan cities nationwide. It had already expanded into Busan, Incheon, Ulsan, Gwangju and Daejeon. The company plans to broaden its sales base, currently concentrated in the Seoul metropolitan area, into other regions to meet local insurance needs and strengthen the foundation for growth of its insurance agent network.
The Daegu office plans to hire young insurance agents with digital skills from the region. The company also plans to strengthen specialized training for new agents with no prior experience and continue to offer career development opportunities that can help them grow into managers.
In his congratulatory remarks that day, CEO Cho said, “By opening an office in Daegu, known as ‘Dalgubeol,’ meaning a large, open field, we have created an environment where insurance agents can work freely in the local community. We will foster financial professionals whom customers can trust completely and set a new standard for Korea’s insurance market.”
Toss Insurance, a mega-sized general agency (GA), had about 3,300 insurance agents as of the end of the first half of this year. It has 27 locations nationwide.
A Toss Insurance representative said, “With the 1,200% rule, which has been in effect in the GA industry since last July, and the installment payment of commissions set to be introduced next January, more insurance agents are prioritizing long-term stability and growth potential. We will provide a MyData-based platform database (DB) sales environment and expand our efforts to train new agents.”
