[Financial News] Jin Air’s labor and management have reached a tentative agreement on this year’s wage deal. The wage negotiations will be finalized if union members approve the deal in an upcoming vote.
Jin Air said on the 6th that it had reached a tentative agreement on its “2026 Wage Agreement” on the 4th at its headquarters in Magok, Seoul, with negotiating committee members from both labor and management in attendance.
Under the tentative agreement, general employees, technical specialists and aircraft maintenance staff will receive increases of up to 2% based on total wages. Cabin crew will receive 2% increases in both base pay and flight allowances, while flight crew will receive a 2% base-pay increase along with an increase in landing fees.
The agreement is considered significant because it was reached as Jin Air pursues integration with Air Busan and Air Seoul. Ahead of the launch of an integrated low-cost carrier (LCC), the two sides maintained cooperative relations and found common ground in wage negotiations. The tentative agreement will be finalized after a vote by union members. If approved, the pay increases are scheduled to be applied retroactively from April this year.
Jin Air’s labor and management have maintained cooperative relations since signing a “Joint Declaration on Labor-Management Cooperation” in 2019. In 2024, they also held a “Labor-Management Cooperation Declaration Ceremony for Integration and Shared Growth” and pledged to work together toward the launch of an integrated LCC.
A Jin Air official said, “This agreement was an opportunity to reaffirm once again the strong trust between labor and management,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen cooperation based on a win-win labor-management culture.”
