[Financial News] Daekyo’s early-childhood toy-book brand Dreaming Snail launched a sound book, ‘Press to Hear Aesop’s Stories,’ on the 6th, allowing children to enjoy Aesop’s fables in both Korean and English.
The new product is a sound book that lets children listen to stories vividly narrated by professional voice actors at the press of a button. It is designed so they can revisit content they have first learned in Korean in easy English, spoken with native-speaker pronunciation. This allows children to enjoy reading and practice listening to English at the same time.
The product comprises 10 books, each featuring one of 10 well-known Aesop’s fables, including ‘The Ant and the Grasshopper,’ ‘The Hare and the Tortoise,’ and ‘The Sun and the Wind.’ Short, concise sentences, sound words, and expressive illustrations help children naturally understand a range of lessons, such as diligence and consideration for others.
The book also includes features to develop children’s thinking skills, going beyond simply listening. A dialogue section midway through each story prompts parents and children to ask each other questions about the characters’ actions and feelings, helping children think through situations for themselves and express their own opinions.
A Daekyo official said, “We designed it to help children enjoy Aesop’s fables and develop the ability to think for themselves,” adding, “We plan to continue introducing a range of reading content that takes into account young children’s developmental characteristics and interests.”
