[Financial News] Mirae Asset Group has carried out an organizational reshuffle and executive appointments to transform its business model around artificial intelligence (AI) and digital technologies. The move is intended to strengthen technological competitiveness and financial security, appoint next-generation leaders and frontline staff in customer-facing roles, and accelerate the group’s transformation into a global investment platform.
Mirae Asset Group said on the 5th that it had carried out an organizational reshuffle and executive appointments focused on implementing ‘Mirae Asset 3.0.’ After launching MAPS, a global investment platform, this year, the group reorganized its implementation framework to expand AI-based asset management and wealth management strategies across its businesses.
The key focus of the appointments was to strengthen tech leadership. Experts in AI transformation (AX), digital technology and information security accounted for 20% of all executives promoted. Along with the expanded use of technology, the information security organization was also elevated. In response to the digitalization of financial services, the group plans to step up proactive checks for security vulnerabilities, strengthen its hands-on response capabilities, and better protect customer assets and information.
On the business side, the group strengthened its leadership in digital assets and energy infrastructure. It named Vice President Noh Yong-woo CEO-designate of Digital X to expand synergies between traditional finance and digital assets. Noh is expected to be formally appointed following a shareholders’ meeting after the Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) accepts the notification of the CEO change.
Woo Shin-je, a managing director at Mirae Asset Global Investments Co., Ltd., was appointed CEO of Energy Infrastructure Asset Management. The company plans to broaden its investment scope to include renewable energy generation projects, power grids, energy storage systems (ESS), and power infrastructure for AI data centers.
The group strengthened its focus on appointing next-generation leaders and on-the-ground personnel. Of all executives promoted in Korea and overseas, 64% were in their 40s and 17% were women. Frontline leaders in wealth management (WM) and pension sales made up 30% of all those promoted, underscoring the group’s focus on strengthening customer-centered asset management and sales competitiveness.
A Mirae Asset Securities spokesperson said, “We strengthened the execution framework by appointing division heads in customer service innovation, information security, IT and pensions,” adding, “We plan to improve the customer experience and boost the competitiveness of our asset management and pension businesses by upgrading customer-facing services and sales support systems.”
