Lee Tae-ju, CEO of Lazenca AI, expressed this ambition on the 5th, saying, “The medical industry is a sector where the digital transformation of B2B payment systems has been slow, with transactions still conducted through traditional methods such as bank transfers and the issuance of cash receipts and tax invoices.”
Lazenca AI received the grand prize—the Korea Industrial Complex Corporation Chairman's Award—at the 10th G-Valley Startup Competition 2026, held on the 4th.
“Manufacturers with sales of several billion won and startups with valuations reaching 100 billion won also took part, so I didn't have high expectations,” Lee said. “The whole team is elated by the unexpected grand-prize win.”
Lazenca AI plans to focus its business efforts on the medical industry's B2B payments market. Lee stressed, “The B2B payments market is relatively slower to digitize than the B2C market, and this is even more pronounced in healthcare. We will delve into the narrow, deep market that is difficult for big tech companies to enter and lead change in the medical industry's payments market.”
Lee plans to actively pursue follow-on investment and make use of opportunities to collaborate with large corporations in the wake of the award.
“Startups are often asked to provide a track record and references when seeking to collaborate with large corporations,” Lee said. “Getting opportunities to conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) projects through open innovation and building a record of collaboration would go a long way toward securing additional business opportunities.” He added, “I also expect support in attracting follow-on investment to serve as a stepping stone for the company to grow to the next level.”
