【Financial News Jeju = Jeong Yong-bok, Staff Writer】 A tourism program combining a mobile bingo challenge using 25 running routes across Jeju with discounts at local small-business stores has launched. It will offer a two-day, one-night running program on Udo and a team-mission running program on Gapado.
According to Jeju Special Self-Governing Province and the Jeju Tourism Organization, the “2026 Jeju Running Week Season 2” will run from the 5th through Dec. 15. Part of the “THE JEJU FOUR SEASONS” campaign to promote year-round tourism, the program aims to attract visitors in fall and winter and encourage running participants to visit local commercial districts.
The main program is “Mobile Bingo Run.” Participants can check Jeju’s running routes and nearby tourist information on a dedicated app, and receive a completion stamp after finishing a designated route. Those who complete the bingo challenge using 25 routes across Jeju can also take part in a prize event.
Local small-businesses, including cafes near the running routes, are offering discounts and other benefits. The program is designed to encourage tourists to visit nearby shops and villages as well as run the routes.
The offline program, “Running Island,” will take place on Gapado and Udo. According to the event poster, the Gapado program is scheduled for Nov. 16, and the Udo program for Dec. 4–5.

On Gapado, participants will form teams and take part in a mission-based run that takes them to attractions around the island. On Udo, a two-day, one-night stay-based program will have participants run along coastal paths, enjoy the sunrise and sunset, and visit local accommodations and restaurants.
In June, the Jeju Tourism Organization also held its first Running Week, combining runs on Udo and Marado with stamp runs across Jeju. This time, it has introduced a mobile bingo challenge and expanded the program for fall and winter using Gapado and Udo.
Jeju’s focus on running tourism is driven by a policy goal of linking seasonal tourism demand with local spending. Rather than limiting visits to specific tourist destinations, the plan is to create more revenue opportunities for local small businesses by combining running with food and drink purchases and accommodation.
Information on how to apply for each program, recruitment schedules, and partner stores is available on Instagram at “Running Week Jeju” (@Runningweek_jeju) and “The Jeju Four Seasons” (@the_jeju_fourseasons).
