[Financial News] Studio Dragon posted third-quarter revenue of 159 billion won and operating profit of 15.1 billion won. Revenue rose 16.5% and operating profit 44.4% from the same period a year earlier.
According to Studio Dragon on the 5th, operating profit rose 50.1% in the first quarter compared with the same period in 2025, returned to profitability in the second quarter, and improved further in the third. A slate combining big-budget and mid-sized productions, increased overseas presales, improvements to its production management system, and cost efficiencies from using artificial intelligence (AI) all contributed to better results.
The number of episodes aired on TV and OTT platforms in the third quarter was 60, down 12 from the same period a year earlier. However, the results included delivery of all episodes of Netflix original series Tantara, scheduled for release in the fourth quarter; the presale of Going to Work Tomorrow Too to Prime Video; and the presale of Four Hands, Two Sonatas to Netflix.
My Favorite’s Employee contributed to revenue through sales to regional platforms, including Japan’s U-NEXT and HBO Max in Southeast Asia. Distribution through TVING’s global branded hubs also expanded. Yumi’s Cells, The Legend of Kitchen Soldier, and some older titles were supplied to TVING-branded sections on Disney+ in Japan, HBO Max in Southeast Asia, and shahid in the Middle East and North Africa.
Overseas revenue in the third quarter was 132.4 billion won, up 35% from the same period a year earlier.
