[Financial News, Chuncheon = Kim Gi-seop] Companies in the province that make software and AI products will now be able to address quality verification issues encountered during development with help from a specialist testing firm.
According to Gangwon Technopark on the 5th, Gangwon Technopark and STA Testing Consulting, a specialist firm in software testing and quality management, signed a business agreement that day to strengthen digital quality management capabilities and promote mutual cooperation. The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Gi-su, head of Gangwon Technopark’s Gangwon Digital Innovation Center, and STA Testing Consulting CEO Kwon Won-il, among others.
The two organizations will work together to provide technical advice on software and AI testing and quality consulting, hold seminars and specialized training for local digital companies, and connect companies with testing and evaluation services, including the issuance of accredited test reports. They will also work to upgrade testing infrastructure and identify new digital quality management support programs. The plan is to combine the business support infrastructure of the Gangwon Digital Quality Competency Center, run by Gangwon Technopark, with STA Testing Consulting’s technical expertise to systematically address the quality and testing and evaluation difficulties companies face during product development.
Starting next year, the organizations will jointly offer seminars and training for companies in the province, reflecting on-the-ground demand in areas such as AI quality evaluation, test automation and practical software testing. They will also develop a skilled workforce through programs linked to professional certifications, including the International Software Testing certification (ISTQB), and connect companies that need accredited test reports with specialized institutions.
The Gangwon Digital Quality Competency Center operates under the Regional Digital Quality Management Capacity-Building Project, supported by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA). It is responsible for software quality testing and consulting, quality capability assessments, and training specialized personnel for companies in the province. The two organizations plan to establish a working-level cooperation system and gradually expand collaboration in areas including business support, training, testing and evaluation, and identifying new projects.
The center director said, “We can now work with a specialized company to support local businesses with quality verification challenges that were difficult to address on their own, such as obtaining accredited test reports and automating tests,” adding, “Through joint training and seminars starting next year, we will help companies in the province bring to market AI and software products they can use with confidence.”
