【Financial News, Jeju = Reporter Jeong Yong-bok】 The Queen Jenuvia, a large car-ferry passenger ship on the Mokpo–Jeju route, will return on the 7th after suspending service for about five months. The 27,391-ton vessel has undergone a routine ship inspection and renovations to its onboard facilities, and has a passenger capacity of 1,284.
Sea World Express Ferry said on the 5th that the Queen Jenuvia had suspended service for a routine ship inspection from May 28 through November 6, and is scheduled to depart for Jeju from Mokpo International Passenger Terminal at 1 a.m. on the 7th.
The Queen Jenuvia is a 170-meter-long cruise-style car ferry that carries passengers and vehicles. The voyage between Mokpo and Jeju takes about 4 hours and 30 minutes. It is a means of maritime transport used for passenger travel, tourism by people traveling with vehicles, and freight movement.
After service resumes, the regular schedule will be departures from Mokpo at 1 a.m. and from Jeju at 1:40 p.m. However, the schedule applies to Mokpo departures from Tuesday to Saturday and Jeju departures from Tuesday to Friday and on Sundays. Monday schedules vary by week, and there are no scheduled Saturday departures from Jeju. Actual departures may vary depending on weather and vessel operating conditions.

Sea World Express Ferry also upgraded onboard amenities during the service suspension. It installed a large video display in the boarding area and converted some of the existing four-person family rooms into character-themed cabins for children.
Cabins and cinema content featuring the animated series Bread Barbershop, as well as an experiential space branded with Nongshim’s Neoguri, were also introduced. The photo area and gaming facilities were also partially upgraded.
The ferry operator held an event showcasing facility upgrades aboard the Queen Jenuvia, berthed at Mokpo International Passenger Terminal, at 6 p.m. on the 3rd. The event introduced newly created cabins and amenities and featured an onboard fireworks show, among other activities.
With service resuming, the Queen Jenuvia’s passenger and vehicle transport, which was suspended during the routine inspection period, will start again. Passengers using the Mokpo–Jeju route should check the schedule for their departure day and whether vehicle loading is available before booking.
