Overview of the Advanced Industry Talent Development Boot Camp and Event in the Robotics Sector

[Financial News] The Ministry of Education is holding a job and career counseling event that directly connects university students with current employees of robotics companies, with the aim of developing talent equipped to lead the robotics industry. The ministry and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology announced on the 5th that they would hold the “2026 Student Support Event for the Advanced Industry Talent Development Boot Camp in the Robotics Sector” on the 6th at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX) in Ilsan, Gyeonggi Province.
The event is being held in conjunction with ROBOWORLD 2026, South Korea’s largest robotics exhibition. Current HR personnel from major robotics companies, including Hanwha Robotics and HL Robotics, will attend to hold small-group job counseling sessions and career exploration discussions for university students.
Robotics was designated a national strategic technology for advanced industries in May last year and was added as a new field to this year’s boot camp program. Two universities, Kyungpook National University and Daegu Catholic University, have been designated for the program and are providing practical training tailored to manufacturing, logistics and services, as well as hands-on training with automated process equipment, in cooperation with Seonglim Advanced Industry, HD HYUNDAI ROBOTICS and Daeyoung Electronics.
An HL Robotics official participating as an on-site mentor said, “The robotics industry needs hands-on talent who understand mechanical engineering, electronics and software together and can operate actual equipment,” adding, “I hope this will give students an opportunity to form a concrete picture of the roles they are interested in.”
The Advanced Industry Talent Development Boot Camp is a program in which universities and companies work together to provide short-term intensive courses lasting up to one year and train specialists. This year, the government is investing 134.175 billion won in 88 universities to develop future talent in advanced industries, including artificial intelligence, robotics and semiconductors, through a range of initiatives.
