[Financial News] The Busan Jinhae Free Economic Zone Authority said on the 5th that officials from TCIT, a leading Vietnamese container terminal operator, had visited the Authority, reviewed the logistics infrastructure and investment environment of the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone, and discussed expanding exchanges and potential cooperation in the port and logistics sectors.
TCIT operates a deep-sea container terminal at Cai Mep–Thi Vai Port, a key logistics hub in southern Vietnam. It was established in 2009 through joint investment by Saigon Newport, Vietnam’s leading port logistics company, South Korea’s Hanjin, Japan’s MOL, and Taiwan’s Wan Hai Lines.
With a global shipping network linking the Americas, Europe, and Asia, TCIT handles about 2.25 million TEU of container cargo in 2025.
That day, the Authority introduced the visiting delegation to the Busan-Jinhae Free Economic Zone’s port-airport-rail-linked tri-port system, investment attraction support programs, and successful investment cases.
The two organizations then shared information on the operation of their port and logistics infrastructure and discussed ways to link logistics using existing shipping networks and promote exchanges between companies.
The Authority plans to use this exchange as an opportunity to strengthen the basis for cooperation with overseas port and logistics companies, including TCIT, and expand its global logistics cooperation network through continued information exchange and the development of new business opportunities.
