[Financial News] The Busan Port Authority (BPA) said it carried out a meal-service volunteer activity for vulnerable local residents at Busan Briquette Bank’s Meal-Sharing Center on the 5th.
The volunteer activity was organized to donate to Busan Briquette Bank the 3.43 million won in proceeds from the ‘2026 Anabada Market,’ held jointly by the Authority and nine Port of Busan terminal operators, and return the proceeds to the local community.
That day, the Authority used the donations to provide samgyetang (ginseng chicken soup) to about 180 people from vulnerable groups.
About 20 people took part in the volunteer effort, including Authority employees and employees of Shinsundae Gamman Terminal Co., Ltd. and Korea Hutchison Terminal Co., Ltd., which participated in the Reshare Market. They helped with meal-service support by preparing ingredients for the samgyetang, cooking, serving meals and clearing tables.
Authority President Song Sang-geun said, “It is meaningful that we are returning to the local community proceeds generated through our social contribution activities and that executives and employees across the Port of Busan community took part in the volunteer work themselves.” He added, “We will continue to carry out activities that benefit the local community together with Port of Busan terminal operators.”
