[Financial News] A new Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) route will connect KTX Osong Station to the Sejong Express and Intercity Bus Terminal via the National Assembly Sejong Complex. The route will be 24 km long, with operations targeted to begin in 2030.
On the 5th, the National Agency for Administrative City Construction said it was pursuing the new route to prepare for increased transport demand following the move-in to the National Assembly Sejong Complex. The aim is to strengthen the connection between Osong Station and the BRT system and make public transport more convenient for visitors coming to the National Assembly from across the country.
The route was drawn up following discussions at the Happy City Metropolitan Planning Area Transportation Council, which includes relevant agencies and local governments in the Chungcheong region. It was finally incorporated into the Second Comprehensive Plan for the Bus Rapid Transit System (2026–2030) and announced last July.
The National Agency for Administrative City Construction plans to work with Sejong City, the Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) and other relevant agencies to build infrastructure, including dedicated lanes and stops.
Kang Byeong-gu, head of the Transportation Planning Division, said, “We will work closely with the relevant agencies to ensure the necessary transport infrastructure is built on time, so that operations can begin in 2030 without disruption.”
