【Financial News, Chuncheon = Reporter Kim Gi-seop】An event bringing together opportunities needed at every stage of growth for Gangwon’s SMEs, from investment consultations to collaboration among companies, will be held in Chuncheon.
According to Gangwon Technopark on the 5th, the 2026 Gangwon SMEs Growth Connection Day event will be held on the 6th at BENIKEA Chuncheon Bears Hotel in Chuncheon, with around 150 people from local SMEs and related organizations in attendance. Its theme is “Beyond Support, Toward New Opportunities,” and it aims to connect companies with support organizations and with one another, expanding support at each stage of growth and opportunities for practical collaboration.
At the corporate support consultation event, which has attracted strong interest from companies, experts will offer consultations on areas including investment attraction, technology protection, intellectual property, R&D and non-R&D support programs, and smart factories. Guidance on the use of pseudonymized data and information security will also be provided. In the morning, a support-agency council involving △Gangwon Technopark △the Korea SMEs and Startups Agency (KOSME) and △the Korea Technology Finance Corporation (KOTEC) will meet to discuss ways for the organizations to work together.
The afternoon program is tailored to companies in the materials, parts and equipment sectors. A training session and discussion on “Strategies for Responding to ESG Supply Chain Requirements in the AI Era” will examine how to respond to an industrial environment in which environmental, social and governance (ESG) demands are growing, and provide an opportunity to share challenges from the field. Training on export marketing using AI and the safe use of personal information will follow.
At the win-win networking event, which 29 companies will take part in, businesses will explore opportunities to collaborate through presentations on their technologies and products and one-on-one consultations. Three companies—△Qusentech △IOTED and △Udang Network—will present their technologies and proposals for collaboration. Gangwon Technopark is expanding cooperation to strengthen the competitiveness of local businesses, including through an MOU signed on October 30 with the Gangwon Branch of the Korean Standards Association covering ESG management, standards and education. On December 17, it will hold the Gangwon SMEs Achievement-Sharing Gathering to share the year’s growth achievements.
Choi Gap-yong, head of Gangwon Technopark’s Corporate Support Division, said, “We put together a program so companies can tackle in one day the challenges they face as they grow, from investment and technology protection consultations to supply-chain response training and a networking event for 29 companies.” He added, “We will build this into a ‘Gangwon-style win-win platform’ so the companies meeting at this event can share the results of their collaboration at the achievement-sharing event in December.”
