[Financial News] Naver is launching Naver Ads (N Ads), a new advertising platform that uses artificial intelligence (AI) to help manage ads. The platform is designed to lower the barrier to entry by having AI analyze ad performance, recommend improvements and help implement them, making it easier for small-business owners with little experience managing ads to do so without an agency’s help.
According to industry sources on the 5th, Naver has added an AI ad agent to its existing Advertiser Center and renamed the platform Naver Ads. The platform has been revamped to move away from the previous approach, in which advertisers had to set up campaigns and manage their performance themselves, and to have AI take a more active role in ad management.
The core feature is “Personalized Recommendations,” through which AI analyzes ad performance and suggests improvements. Even without a separate request from the advertiser, AI assesses the status of campaigns and recommends steps that could improve their performance.
Advertisers can receive recommendation alerts through Naver TalkTalk or text messages. Tapping an alert lets them view diagnostic results, suggested improvements and expected performance on a mobile screen. They can then apply the AI’s suggestions to their ads immediately by tapping the “Apply Now” button.
Naver has also introduced Ads Assistant, which helps resolve problems that arise during ad setup. If an ad has been registered but is not actually being displayed, advertisers can use AI to check its settings and find the cause and a solution without contacting customer service. The feature will initially be available for search ads, with plans to expand its coverage.
Naver is also offering a First Ad Guide for businesses launching ads for the first time. It displays each step and the necessary tasks—from registering an ad and adding funds to reviewing ad materials and checking initial results—on a single screen, with direct links to the relevant menus.
Last July, Naver also introduced “Ads Tailored to Me,” a feature that uses AI to recommend ad products and budgets suited to a business’s industry and advertising objectives. It analyzes information from the business’s website and Naver SmartPlace to suggest suitable ad products.
With Place ads, advertisers can complete ad registration within five minutes with AI assistance. About 80% of new advertisers introduced to Place ads through the feature completed registration on the day they signed up.
About 90% of advertisers who started shopping ads through “Ads Tailored to Me” achieved conversions from their ads within a month. One business selling camping gear, for example, started shopping ads on the day it signed up after receiving an AI recommendation. Its order volume was found to have increased by about 74% compared with the first month, without any increase in ad spending over the three-month period.
With this revamp, Naver plans to reduce the time and burden small-business owners devote to managing ads and help them improve ad performance using AI.
