Yuyu Healthcare completes second plant in Hoengseong, establishing annual production capacity of 70 billion won

[Financial News] Yuyu Healthcare, a company specializing in original equipment manufacturing (OEM) and original development manufacturing (ODM), has completed a second plant in Hoengseong County, Gangwon State, with annual production capacity of 20 billion won. Its strategy is to diversify its product lineup and expand manufacturing capabilities to strengthen its competitiveness in domestic and international health functional food markets as it marks its 20th anniversary.
According to Yuyu Healthcare on the 5th, the second plant was built on a 17,922-square-meter site in the Ucheon General Industrial Complex, in the Sanghaga-ri area of Ucheon-myeon, Hoengseong County, Gangwon State. It has a total floor area of 7,056 square meters. The new plant is equipped to produce health functional foods in a range of dosage forms, including soft capsules, liquids and jellies.
With the completion of the second plant, Yuyu Healthcare has established a production system linked to its existing first plant. The second plant can produce a variety of dosage forms, complementing the first plant’s production lines, which focus on solid products such as tablets. This has expanded the company’s total annual production capacity to about 70 billion won.
The plant is also expected to contribute to local job creation. A total of 110 local workers will be employed at Yuyu Healthcare’s Hoengseong plant, including at the second plant once it begins operations.
Preparations for entering overseas markets are also moving forward in earnest. Yuyu Healthcare plans to pursue vegan and halal certifications to enhance its product competitiveness and expand its business beyond the domestic market into the global health functional food market.
Yoo Gyeong-su, CEO of Yuyu Healthcare, said, “As we mark our 20th anniversary, we will build on the stronger production competitiveness achieved through the first plant’s FSSC 22000 certification, an international food safety management system certification, and the completion of a second plant capable of producing a variety of dosage forms to grow into a leading company in the health functional food industry.”
Yuyu Healthcare was also selected this year for the Regional Innovation Leading Company Development (R&D) project run by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups. Last year, it was named a “100-Year Company,” a designation for businesses selected to lead the future of the Gangwon economy, further cementing its position as a regionally rooted growth company.
With the completion of the second plant, Yuyu Healthcare is expected to pursue expanded production capacity, a more diverse product portfolio and global certifications as it works to strengthen the competitiveness of its health functional food OEM and ODM business.
