【Financial News Jeju = Jeong Yong-bok, reporter】 Heavy rain advisories issued for parts of Jeju have been lifted, but wind advisories are in effect in several areas, including mountainous and mid-mountain regions. A rough-sea advisory has also been issued for waters far south of Jeju, and waves of up to 3.5 meters are expected in waters around the island.
According to the Korea Meteorological Administration on the 5th, the heavy rain warning for eastern Seogwipo City and the heavy rain advisories for southern and mid-mountain areas of Seogwipo City were lifted at 5 a.m. At the same time, wind advisories took effect in the mountainous areas of Jeju Island and the Chujado Islands, as well as in the eastern and western parts and mid-mountain areas of Jeju City and Seogwipo City.
Preliminary wind advisories have been issued for northern Jeju City and southern Seogwipo City. The wind advisories in effect are expected to be lifted on the night of the 5th in areas outside the mountains and on the morning of the 7th in mountainous areas.
The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast that gusts of at least 20 m/s could occur in Jeju, with winds of at least 25 m/s in mountainous areas. Caution is needed to prevent damage to signs and temporary structures and accidents caused by falling objects.
Conditions at sea are also poor. A rough-sea advisory took effect at 4 a.m. for the far offshore waters south of Jeju Island, and advisories took effect at 6 a.m. for the southeastern and southwestern inner offshore waters.
A preliminary rough-sea advisory has been issued for waters off Jeju Island. The Korea Meteorological Administration forecast strong winds of 9–14 m/s and waves of 1.5–3.5 meters in waters off the island on the 5th. Vessels sailing or fishing should take safety precautions while marine weather advisories remain in effect.

Rain may continue in some places until late afternoon today. Expected precipitation is 5–20 mm. Depending on the area, rain will come and go, and some places may see thunder and lightning accompanied by gusts through the morning.
Temperatures are expected to fall from the 6th. Jeju’s daytime high is forecast to be 21–22 degrees today, but is expected to drop to 16–19 degrees on the 6th and 13–16 degrees on the 7th. Morning lows are forecast at 13–15 degrees on the 6th and 10–11 degrees on the 7th.
Temperatures are expected to fall nationwide. After rain across most of the country on the 5th, cold air from the northwest will move south from the 6th, bringing lower temperatures and stronger winds. Jeju is also expected to gradually clear from the afternoon of the 6th, but strong winds and high waves are forecast to continue affecting some areas and waters.
Jeju is expected to be mostly clear on the 7th, with clouds increasing from the evening, and mostly cloudy on the 8th.
The Korea Meteorological Administration urged people to be cautious when approaching coastal areas and breakwaters to prevent accidents caused by strong winds and rough seas. It also advised air and ferry passengers to check service information and the latest weather advisories.
