[Financial News] A heartwarming story has emerged about a furniture assembly technician who personally carried an elderly couple’s large sofa down the stairs from the 13th floor of their apartment building to the first floor after they were unable to dispose of it because it would not fit in the elevator.
The sofa wouldn’t fit in the elevator... The technician decided to take it down the stairs

A, who runs a furniture assembly and removal service, posted the story along with three photos on A’s Threads account on the 3rd.
The photos showed a sofa wedged tightly beside the stair railing, with detached seat cushions, a dismantled wooden frame and foam scattered around.
At around 7 p.m. on the 2nd, A visited an apartment in Suji District, Yongin, Gyeonggi Province, after an elderly couple who lived there called to ask, “Could you dispose of a three-seat sofa?”
The couple had bought a new sofa, but the delivery company reportedly left after delivering only the smaller sofa, saying, “The old sofa won’t fit in the elevator, and even if we use a ladder truck, the window would have to be removed and broken.”
The couple then contacted several removal companies, but all turned them down because of the 13th-floor height and the difficulty of the job, leaving them in a difficult spot.
“It was late, and seeing the elderly couple in such a difficult position weighed on me,” A said. “I reassured them, telling them not to worry because I’d get it downstairs somehow.”
A then carried the sofa down the stairs from the 13th floor to the first-floor waste collection area. He explained, “I cleared my mind and made my way down slowly, one floor at a time.”
A told Financial News, “I thought the job would take about 15 minutes, but I think it took more than an hour. At first, I spent a lot of time trying different things because the sofa wouldn’t fit in the elevator.”
He added, “The delay also pushed back my next appointment, and I arrived there close to 9 p.m.”
A’s post saying, “Feeling proud of the elderly couple’s thanks,” drew praise from netizens: “Looks like you’ll be blessed.”

After the job was done, the elderly couple reportedly thanked A again and again. He said, “They thanked me, and it felt so rewarding and fulfilling.”
Netizens who heard the story praised him, commenting, “It’s amazing that he carried it down the stairs from the 13th floor,” “I hope sincere people like this do well,” and “You’ll be blessed.”
