[Financial News] Korea Asset Management Corporation (KAMCO)’s Busan Regional Office said on the 4th that it had held a joint cooperation declaration ceremony with Saha District Office at Narakium On Tower in Nam-gu, Busan, to launch the ‘Safe Companion Alley~it Road’ project for Gamcheon Culture Village and Cheonma Village.
The project was designed to improve living conditions so residents can walk with peace of mind by improving and making use of state-owned property in Saha District, and to establish a sustainable model for regional development through mutual growth.
KAMCO plans to actively incorporate residents’ requests for improvements, gathered through surveys and on-site consultations, by improving pedestrian paths, expanding safety facilities and creating rest areas in the alleys.
The two organizations jointly declared that they would pursue three key priorities to ensure the project’s successful implementation and promote shared prosperity in Saha District: creating a safe and beautiful pedestrian environment, laying the groundwork for field-based projects involving resident participation, and establishing a sustainable framework for project cooperation.
The two organizations plan to expand the project in stages, beginning with a pilot project this year, and strengthen a framework for collaboration that links local governments’ demolition of vacant homes with KAMCO’s site preparation and, ultimately, the use of idle lots.
Kim Jong-su, head of KAMCO’s Busan Regional Office, said, “This joint declaration marks the start of practical cooperation to improve local residents’ quality of life and ensure their safety by improving neglected state-owned property.” He added, “We will continue to communicate closely with local governments and work to create communities where people can live well.”
