According to financial industry sources on the 4th, Woori Bank held the 2026 Overseas Volunteer Group launch ceremony that day at its headquarters in Jung District, Seoul, together with the National Pension Service.
Woori Bank and the National Pension Service are resuming their joint overseas volunteer program for the first time in seven years, following its suspension due to COVID-19. The two organizations previously conducted joint volunteer activities twice: in Thailand in 2018 and Cambodia in 2019.
The volunteer group plans to visit schools in Thailand’s Chiang Mai region from the 16th through the 21st to provide financial education to local students and improve school facilities. Cultural exchange activities are also planned, including experiences with Hangul, hanji crafts and K-food.
Woori Bank President Jin-owan Jung said, "I hope this volunteer work will provide local students in Thailand with new learning opportunities and warm hope," adding, "We will continue to work with the National Pension Service to pursue social contribution activities that provide practical help to communities at home and abroad."
Woori Bank plans to strengthen its cooperation with the National Pension Service through this initiative.
