[Financial News] The way companies compete in the recruitment market is changing amid demographic shifts and the spread of artificial intelligence (AI). Rather than simply increasing the exposure of job postings, the ability to find and connect companies with the talent they want, with greater precision, is emerging as a key competitive advantage for recruitment platforms. Against this backdrop, executives from domestic recruitment platform Jobplanet and global human resources (HR) platform LinkedIn met to discuss the direction of AI-based recruitment services.
According to HR industry sources on the 4th, Jobplanet, operated by workphere, met with LinkedIn executives at its headquarters in Seocho District, Seoul, on the 19th of last month to exchange views on structural changes in Korea’s recruitment market and ways to drive recruitment innovation using AI.
About 20 people attended the meeting, including LinkedIn Chief Product Officer (CPO) Hari Srinivasan and executives from its AI platform, Talent Solutions and Learning divisions. Representing Jobplanet were CEO Lee Jun, workphere CPO Jung Seung-ho, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Kim Philip, and others. CPO Srinivasan oversees product strategy across LinkedIn’s member services, recruitment solutions and AI platform.
The central topic of discussion was structural change in the recruitment market. Jobplanet outlined the characteristics of the Korean market, where open recruitment, rolling recruitment and services based on recruitment outcomes coexist. In particular, it shared how, as demographic shifts driven by low birth rates and an aging population change the conditions under which companies secure talent, the center of competition is moving away from services focused on job postings and toward identifying and connecting suitable candidates.
AI-powered talent-matching technology was also a key topic. workphere is enhancing its AI matching engine using job-seeker behavioral data accumulated through recruitment services such as JOBKOREA and Albamon. The engine analyzes candidates’ backgrounds, preferences and the context in which they use the services to recommend suitable job postings.
Jobplanet is expanding beyond providing company information into an AI-powered career platform. It currently holds at least 10 million data records, including company reviews, salary information and interview reviews. The company plans to use this information to strengthen services that connect job seekers’ company research, career planning and recruitment.
LinkedIn is also making AI a core part of its business strategy. With at least 1.3 billion members worldwide, it is a global platform supporting recruitment, career development and companies’ efforts to secure talent, and is working to enhance its services using AI.
Jobplanet CEO Lee Jun said, “It was meaningful to exchange views with executives from LinkedIn, a global HR platform, on the distinctive features of Korea’s recruitment market and the direction of future change,” adding, “We will continue to innovate our recruitment services so that we can connect job seekers and companies more precisely in the AI era.”
