[Financial News] Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. is introducing ‘Seol Jung Mae,’ the first plum wine to feature zero sugar.
According to industry sources on the 4th, Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. will launch ‘Seol Jung Mae,’ a zero-sugar plum wine made with fresh plums harvested in Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province.
The renewed Seol Jung Mae features a higher proportion of plum-infused liquor than the previous product, bringing out the plums’ rich, natural taste and aroma. It also adds the refreshing, clean drinking experience characteristic of zero sugar, enhancing the overall flavor.
The product uses 100% fresh plums harvested that year in Gwangyang, South Jeolla Province, Korea’s top plum-growing region. Only high-quality plums that have undergone a total of five rounds of sorting are selected. An infusion process that delicately brings out the ingredients’ taste and aroma is also used to create a harmonious balance of the plums’ distinctive fragrance and deep flavor.
The renewed Seol Jung Mae will be released in a 360 ml bottle, with a plum-infused liquor content of 39% and an alcohol content of 12% ABV. By lowering the alcohol content compared with the previous product and making it zero sugar, the company has responded to the recent consumer trend toward low-alcohol beverages.
A Lotte Chilsung Beverage Co., Ltd. representative said, “By reflecting changing trends with the clean drinking experience of zero sugar and its lower alcohol content, we will bring the unique appeal of the renewed Seol Jung Mae to a broad range of consumers, from existing fruit-wine drinkers to younger generations.”
