[Financial News]  Actress Cha Ye-ryun has again denied allegations of school bullying and said she would take legal action. Her agency stressed that it would respond strongly to the spread of false information and personal attacks, saying unverified claims were spreading online and criticism was now being directed even at her family.
On the 4th, Cha Ye-ryun’s agency, HB Entertainment, issued an official statement saying that its previous position on the school bullying allegations remained unchanged.
The agency said, “We deeply regret causing concern among the fans who care about actress Cha Ye-ryun and the public because of the recent controversy about her circulating online,” adding, “We have previously stated that claims about actress Cha Ye-ryun’s past raised online are entirely unfounded.”
The agency also expressed concern about the allegations continuing to spread, particularly through anonymous posts. HB Entertainment said, “Nevertheless, we are taking the current situation very seriously, as unverified claims and speculation raised anonymously continue to spread repeatedly, and criticism is being directed even at the actress’s family.”
The agency also announced plans to gather evidence concerning malicious posts and conduct a legal review. It stressed, “We will thoroughly gather relevant materials concerning the malicious spread of false information and personal attacks, and respond responsibly after a legal review. We will also take strong measures to ensure that the harm caused by the spread of false information does not grow any further.”
The school bullying allegations began after a post titled “Please stop working already, 1985-born actress accused of school bullying” appeared on an online community on the 29th of last month. The person who posted it claimed they had been repeatedly bullied by an actress while they were in middle school.
The post did not name the actress it accused of bullying. However, after claims spread online that the person in question was Cha Ye-ryun, her agency denied the allegations, saying they were “entirely unfounded.” Posts claiming there were additional victims have continued to appear, but the facts behind the claims have not been verified.
