[Financial News] Hyosung Heavy Industries will unveil key technologies related to Korea Electric Power Corporation’s (KEPCO) large-capacity, voltage-source ultra-high-voltage direct current (HVDC) localization and demonstration project. After being selected last September as a participating company for the project’s valve and control unit fields, it will also showcase semiconductor transformers (SSTs) and AI-based power facility management technologies.
Hyosung Heavy Industries said it will participate in the Bitgaram International Electric Power Technology Expo (BIXPO) 2026, which runs from the 4th to the 6th at the Kim Daejung Convention Center in Gwangju.
The exhibition will feature a voltage-source HVDC system, a static synchronous compensator (STATCOM) for power grid stabilization, semiconductor transformers (SSTs), and the AI-based power facility asset management platform ARMOUR+, among other technologies.
HVDC is a technology for transmitting large amounts of electricity over long distances. Last September, Hyosung Heavy Industries was selected to participate in the valve and control unit fields of KEPCO’s large-capacity, voltage-source HVDC localization and demonstration project. KEPCO plans to use domestically developed key equipment in the Saemangeum–Seohwaseong HVDC project to verify its performance and reliability.
Meanwhile, 198 companies from Korea and abroad will participate in BIXPO 2026, which is organized by KEPCO.
