[Financial News] U.S. President Donald Trump posted a series of messages criticizing Fox News while watching its midterm election results coverage on the 3rd, local time. Fox News is a typically pro-Trump U.S. media outlet.
That evening, Trump took to his Truth Social account to complain: “I’m watching the election coverage on Fox News, and I can’t stand Jessica Tarlov’s voice. She’s dumb as a rock, and her voice is grating.” Tarlov is a host who is relatively liberal even within conservative-leaning Fox News, and she primarily explains the Democratic Party’s arguments and strategy on air.
That day, Trump posted a string of critical messages, saying, “Fox News polls are always the worst,” and “Fox News ratings have fallen to 27%. It’s because they spend too much time covering stupid Democrats who are obsessed with Trump.”
He also said, “It’s no wonder Fox News ratings are crumbling, and they’ll fall even further,” and, “It’s not because of me, but because they’re against me. This has happened before, and Fox nearly collapsed, but now the same thing is happening again.”
Trump had earlier encouraged Republican supporters to vote in a phone interview with Fox News, drawing further attention to his inconsistent behavior. Some say that while he views Fox News as a means of rallying his support base, he also fiercely criticizes it when it airs favorable coverage of Democrats.
