According to the financial sector on the 4th, BC Card expanded access to its in-house-built “MoAI MATE” (MoAI Mate) to all employees. Previously, it had been used only by certain job groups, including professional developers, but the company has now decided to use it across the organization to boost work efficiency.
“MoAI MATE” is not limited to the functions of conventional AI services, such as answering users’ questions or drafting documents. It supports a range of tasks, including software development, data analysis and the automation of repetitive work. One notable example is a card review task that used to take an average of four hours a day but now takes just five minutes.
BC Card is also using its AI agent to check for security vulnerabilities in internal systems and improve outdated software.
Most importantly, BC Card has developed in-house the technology needed to operate AI. Instead of relying on external commercial AI services, it optimizes publicly available AI models for financial work and operates them directly on its internal systems.
As a result, it has increased AI processing speed to as much as three times its previous level and cut related operating costs by as much as 70%. About 50 work-related AI agents are currently in operation, and the company estimates they save around 102,000 working hours a year.
Oh Seong-su, head of BC Card’s AI Data Division and an executive director, said, “AI is no longer merely a tool for supporting work; it is now a core work tool that every employee can use. Building on our in-house AI capabilities, we will improve work efficiency and continue digital innovation across financial services.”
