On the 29th of last month, the corporation reviewed special transport measures for each area at its emergency operations center and visited major congested stations, including Seomyeon and Haeundae, to check their on-site response systems. On the 6th, it plans to visit Suyeong, Gwangan, Geumnyeonsan and Namcheon stations for a final inspection of the safety of key facilities, such as passenger passageways and escalators, as well as festival preparations.
A total of 212 additional train runs will be added to Lines 1–3 on the day of the festival. Accordingly, before the event, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m., train intervals will shorten from the usual 5–8 minutes to 4.5–6 minutes. After the event, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., they will be reduced from the usual 8–10 minutes to 3–5 minutes.
The revised train schedules can be checked on the corporation’s website, the Busan Metro mobile app and notices posted at each station.
The corporation plans to deploy a total of 1,341 personnel on site on the day of the festival, including 606 staff members supporting station operations and train services, to guide passengers, maintain order and respond promptly to facility malfunctions. It will also manage passenger entry in stages according to crowding conditions, starting outside the entrances, then at the ticket gates and finally on the platforms, to prevent crowds from gathering all at once in a particular area.
The corporation will also offer a service on the day of the festival at Suyeong, Gwangan, Geumnyeonsan and Namcheon stations that allows passengers to buy mobile tickets using a convenient payment service after scanning a dynamic QR code. It plans to make ticket purchases more convenient for festivalgoers and help them get home smoothly.
Busan Transportation Corporation President Kim Tae-ho said, “We will do our utmost in train operations and on-site safety management so that residents and tourists visiting the Busan Fireworks Festival can use the metro to get home safely and conveniently.”
