[Financial News] APR's beauty brand Medicube has entered Shoppers Drug Mart, Canada's largest drugstore chain.
Industry sources said on the 4th that APR completed its rollout to around 1,300 Shoppers stores in Canada last month. Shoppers is a retailer under Loblaw Group, one of Canada's largest retail companies.
Medicube sells a total of 13 products at Shoppers. They include popular products in North America such as Zero Pore Pad, polydeoxyribonucleotide (PDRN) Pink Peptide Ampoule, PDRN Pink Collagen Gel Mask, and Deep Vita C Capsule Cream. APR plans to expand its product lineup in the future.
Medicube is also seeing strong sales in Canada's online market. As of the first week of this month, six of its products, including Zero Pore Pad, ranked among the top 100 in the skincare face category on Amazon Canada. Building on this online performance, Medicube plans to expand its offline channels and strengthen its market presence. Its entry into Costco Canada is also planned for this month.
Canada's K-beauty market is also growing. Market research firm NielsenIQ reported that K-beauty sales in Canada reached $164 million last year, up 57% from the previous year.
An APR representative said, “Entering major local retail channels, including Shoppers, is expanding consumer touchpoints and strengthening our brand competitiveness in the Canadian market, where consumers are highly interested in product ingredients and efficacy.” The representative added, “We will respond to local demand in line with key consumption periods and strengthen our business foundation in North America.”
