[Financial News, Hongseong = Reporter Kim Won-jun] South Chungcheong Province is creating a venue for employers and job seekers to connect, helping local companies recruit talent and giving job seekers practical employment opportunities.
South Chungcheong Province announced that it will hold the “2026 South Chungcheong Province Job Fair” at Baekseok University from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. on the 4th. Hosted and organized by the province and the South Chungcheong Economic Promotion Agency, the fair will offer in-person interviews and tailored employment support services to job seekers from a range of groups, including young people, women, middle-aged and older adults, and foreign nationals. It aims to ease local companies’ labor shortages and help them secure talented employees.
The fair will feature a total of 140 booths, including an on-site recruitment zone, an employment information zone, and a career-readiness zone. Seventy-three companies in the province will participate and hire a total of 860 people.
In the on-site recruitment zone, participating companies and job seekers will hold one-on-one interviews and recruitment consultations. The province will provide an interview allowance of 50,000 won per person to job seekers who take part in interviews. The employment information zone will provide information on public-sector recruitment and employment support policies offered by universities and employment-related organizations in the province.
The career-readiness zone will focus on programs to help job seekers prepare for employment. Support will include consultations on writing résumés and personal statements, mock interviews, interview image coaching, job aptitude and career assessments, and résumé photo services.
South Chungcheong Province has been holding a series of employment-related events this fall. On the 16th of last month, an employment fair jointly hosted for the first time by four local governments in the Chungcheong region—Daejeon, Sejong, North Chungcheong Province, and South Chungcheong Province—was held in Cheongju. Then, on the 28th and 29th of last month, the “One-Stop Job and Housing Fair” was held in Yeouido, Seoul, promoting jobs at companies in the Chungcheong region alongside housing and settlement information to talent in the Seoul metropolitan area.
The event will also feature a special lecture on job-search mentoring by Kang Seong-tae, known as the “God of Study,” as well as a recruitment briefing attended by current employees of Inspire Resort and Nike. Job seekers will be able to hear about job-search preparation methods and learn about companies and positions. At the opening ceremony that day, key guests, including Vice Governor for Political Affairs Gu Bon-young, will encourage job seekers and representatives of participating companies and tour the venue.
Vice Governor for Political Affairs Gu Bon-young said, “I hope this fair will give companies an opportunity to meet the talent they need and job seekers a chance to find jobs suited to their abilities.” He added, “We will continue to do our utmost to closely connect companies and job seekers and provide residents of the province with practical employment opportunities.”
