K-water said it signed an agreement with KAIST on the 4th at KAIST's main campus in Yuseong District, Daejeon, to strengthen digital auditing capabilities and internal controls.
Under the agreement, the two institutions will promote exchanges of AI and digital audit techniques and cooperation on audits in research and development (R&D) and education. They also plan to share audit experience in internal controls and proactive administration.
Hong Jung-min, a standing audit committee member at K-water, said, "The AI audit techniques we have built up in the corporation's water management operations and the audit experience KAIST has accumulated in education and research will be valuable assets to both institutions." He added, "By actively sharing each other's strengths, we will raise our audit capabilities to the next level and faithfully fulfill our role as a trusted internal audit body that meets the public's expectations."
Kim Myeong-ju, a standing auditor at KAIST's audit office, said, "By sharing our experience in using AI and other areas, we will carry out prevention-focused audits that enable people to work with peace of mind."
