[Financial News] A video on a securities firm’s YouTube channel with 10,000 subscribers has garnered more than 28 times that number in views. Rather than market analysis or commentary on individual stocks, it was a day-in-the-life vlog of a private banker (PB) in their 16th year in the profession.  According to the securities industry on the 4th, Hanyang Securities Co., Ltd.’s official YouTube channel, “HY Hanyang Securities,” surpassed 10,000 subscribers one year after its launch, reaching 12,300.
The employee work-vlog series “Hanyang People” has drawn particular attention. The episode “A Day in the Life of a PB in Their 16th Year in the Profession,” released on September 21, follows Director Kwon Chung-hyun through a day at the Yeouido PWM Center. It has recorded 340,000 views and 171 comments. Views have continued to climb since its release, sustaining viewer interest. The video has resonated with viewers by offering an unvarnished look at the securities firm’s sales operations—from client consultations to asset management work—that are rarely seen in everyday life.
The company also continues to release investor education content. Three titles stand out: “Leverage Investment Alert,” which examines the structure and investment risks of single-stock leveraged ETFs; “Hanyang Dictionary,” which explains topics ranging from the history of securities markets to financial basics in accessible terms; and “Hanyang Securities LAB,” which explores investment questions through a laboratory concept. The focus is on presenting professional financial information in videos that are easy for anyone to understand.
Corporate culture content featuring employees also forms one pillar of the channel. “Yeouido Pantry” is a series where they share stories from working life. There is also “BeHYind,” a brand film produced for the company’s 70th anniversary. Through this content, the company offers a broad look at its people, as well as its changes and growth and its vision for the future.
Hanyang Securities Co., Ltd. plans to continue producing content featuring employee participation while expanding information to help customers with financial investments, including guidance on using its mobile trading system (MTS) and pension savings.
A Hanyang Securities representative said, “In an era when channels with more than one million subscribers are common, 10,000 may not seem like a large number, but for us, it is a meaningful milestone. Since we plan and produce all our content in-house without an external production company, we put a great deal of care into each piece. We will continue to tell Hanyang Securities’ own stories with authenticity and maintain communication with our customers and potential customers.”
Earlier, Hanyang Securities also designated the Wednesday of the final week of January, April, July and October as “Ethics and Compliance Day” and introduced a system under which all employees conduct self-assessments using a 19-item internal control checklist.
