After Bitcoin, Kim Geo-seok Donates U.S. Stocks Worth 220 Million Won

[Financial News] Kim Geo-seok, who has donated digital assets including Bitcoin and XRP, has now donated U.S. stocks worth about 220 million won to the Community Chest of Korea’s Seoul branch. His cumulative donations to the Seoul branch have exceeded 1.4 billion won.
On the 3rd, the Community Chest of Korea’s Seoul branch (Seoul Community Chest of Korea) said that Mr. Kim held a ceremony the previous day at the Hall of Fame at the Community Chest of Korea Hall in Jung District, Seoul, to hand over his donation of Unusual Machines (UMAC) stock. Kim Jae-rok, chairman of the Seoul branch, and Secretary-General Shin Hye-young were among those in attendance.
The Community Chest of Korea’s Seoul branch plans to sell the donated shares that day and use the funds raised to support vulnerable groups in Seoul. Unusual Machines is a U.S. company that manufactures and sells components used in drones, including motors and imaging equipment.
Mr. Kim joined the Honor Society in 2018 after donating 100 million won to the Community Chest of Korea’s Seoul branch. The Honor Society is an association of major individual donors who have donated at least 100 million won or pledged to pay that amount within five years.
Last August, he donated one Bitcoin, earning a place in Honor Society O Plus, a group for donors whose cumulative contributions are at least 1 billion won. In April this year, he donated 100,000 XRP worth about 200 million won.
“I believe there is meaning in sharing with our neighbors the fruits of our investments,” Mr. Kim said. “I hope that by sharing what each of us has in various ways, we can build a society where we all prosper together.”
Chairman Kim said, “The Community Chest of Korea’s Seoul branch will also work to promote diverse ways of giving, so that the donor’s actions can encourage more people to take part in sharing.”
