[Financial News] The Busan Women Entrepreneurs Association (an incorporated association), chaired by Kim Jeong-sun, announced on the 3rd that it had successfully held its first official exchange meeting with the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women's Section.
Held in Fukuoka, Japan, over two days starting on the 31st of last month, the exchange meeting is seen as having opened the way to building a practical and sustainable business network between women entrepreneurs in the two countries.
The special ties and strong leadership of the heads of the two organizations drew even more attention.

Kim Jeong-sun, who leads the Busan Women Entrepreneurs Association, is regarded as a trailblazing figure who founded Hanguk Damsu Tobu in 1984 and has continued to lead the company hands-on ever since. A respected leader, she has served as Germany's honorary consul and established a scholarship foundation, consistently championing the education of future generations and support for underserved communities.
The new chair of the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women's Section, Tetsuko Hirata, who took office on the 1st, is also an accomplished businesswoman. In 1979, she founded an online and brick-and-mortar marketplace for office supplies and has remained active in business for many years.
The deep rapport between the two leaders, who have spent nearly half a century observing the economic landscape in their respective countries, provided a solid foundation for this practical cooperation.
With this exchange meeting as a starting point, the two organizations pledged to move away from formal socializing and exchanges that amount to words alone, and to establish a concrete framework for cooperation focused on generating actual sales. They agreed to provide detailed introductions to and share the products and services handled by each member company on both sides, and to establish a regular communication process that can turn their business ties into actual transactions.
Above all, they agreed to lower barriers to business between the two countries by creating sustainable cross-border supply and sales networks made up of their own members.
The two organizations plan to make their exchange meetings a regular fixture, matching the business models of their member companies and enabling actual trade between them.

A representative of the Busan Women Entrepreneurs Association said, “This meeting with the Fukuoka Chamber of Commerce and Industry Women's Section is the starting point for a genuine economic alliance in which women entrepreneurs in the two countries open up markets for one another and jointly develop sales channels,” and emphasized, “We will actively support member companies in both countries so they can grow together in global markets through the mutually connected processes to be established going forward.”
