[Financial News] An additional allegation has emerged that actress Cha Ye-ryun, who is facing school bullying allegations, treated someone rudely at a golf course in the past.
On the 3rd, a video titled ‘Cha Ye-ryun’s Counterattack: Exposé Post Deleted, Comments Blocked’ was released on the YouTube channel ‘Baek Eun-young’s Golden Time.’ Baek Eun-young, a former entertainment reporter who runs the channel, discussed the circumstances surrounding the recently surfaced school bullying allegations against Cha Ye-ryun and introduced an online post criticizing her past behavior at a golf course.
The author of the post claimed to have worked as a caddie at a golf course and said they had been assigned to a group that included Cha Ye-ryun for a round of golf around 2012–2013. The author alleged that Cha had behaved rudely toward them at the time, getting annoyed with and ignoring them, and that she showed a completely different attitude after receiving a phone call from someone believed to be a director.
However, it has not been confirmed whether the author actually worked as a caddie at the time or whether the alleged incident took place as described.
Earlier, on the 29th of last month, a post appeared on an online community from someone claiming to have been bullied by Cha Ye-ryun during their school years, sparking controversy. The author alleged that they had been assaulted and bullied in places including classrooms, bathrooms and playgrounds during middle school, and that their gym clothes had also been borrowed and never returned.
The author also said that they continued to suffer psychological distress because of those experiences and demanded an apology from Cha Ye-ryun. They also said they would release further evidence and testimony from former classmates if Cha denied the allegations. The post is currently inaccessible due to a temporary restriction.
Cha Ye-ryun’s representatives have strongly denied the school bullying allegations, saying they are groundless. The production team of the YouTube channel ‘Cha Jang-geum Cha Ye-ryun,’ which Cha runs, disabled comments on a video and explained that its response was delayed because it learned of the situation while accompanying Cha on her schedule in the United States.
Baek Eun-young noted that if the school bullying allegations are true, they should be dealt with seriously, but that Cha Ye-ryun could also be a victim if the allegations are false. Baek also said it remains to be seen whether the additional evidence and testimony promised by the accuser will actually be presented, and stressed that the facts should not be determined based solely on one-sided claims.
