[Financial News] The government is stepping up efforts to promote small manufacturers’ products and support sales through private distribution platforms such as MUSINSA and Oasis.
According to the Ministry of SMEs and Startups on the 3rd, the “2026 Small Manufacturer Sales Channel Development Results Conference (Small Manufacturer Digging Week)” will be held from the 4th to the 8th at Y173 and the former Vision Motors site in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is carrying out a sales channel development support program for small manufacturers with the Korea Small and Medium Venture Business Distribution Center. In cooperation with MUSINSA and Oasis, it has identified 120 promising small manufacturers in fashion, beauty, and food and is providing facilities and infrastructure, as well as support for new product development and consulting. It is also offering practical opportunities to secure sales channels, including onboarding onto major distribution platforms, participation in special sales events at home and abroad, and direct purchasing.
The event will feature an audition and awards ceremony to select star small manufacturers, as well as a pop-up store where consumers can try and buy products firsthand.
Twenty-four companies that advanced to the finals after preliminary auditions will take part in the selection of star small manufacturers. On the 4th, evaluations will begin with live-commerce assessments of four beauty companies, followed by blind tasting evaluations of 10 food companies. On the 5th, 10 fashion companies will showcase their products in a runway fashion show. Twelve companies selected through evaluations in each category will receive awards.
A pop-up store featuring around 100 promising small manufacturers will also open on the 5th. It will be designed around laboratory and research-lab concepts, allowing consumers to browse brands in fashion, beauty, and food and try their products firsthand.
Visitors can also take part in hands-on activities, including a shovel-digging challenge and games to match weights and lengths. Through these activities, they can receive small-manufacturer products, samples, souvenirs, and other items worth up to 300,000 won.
Companies taking part in the event include Playz in fashion, Pringz in beauty, and Sojeokdu in food. Playz sells hoodies, denim pants, and other items under its GCLIP brand. Pringz, which operates Kimi, a beauty-tools brand, will showcase its signature product, the “Baby-Bottom Glow Puff.” Sojeokdu is a food company that sells Sojeokdu red beans for bingsu.
Kim Jeong-ju, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups’ director general for small business policy, said, “As global demand for K-consumer goods has grown recently, new growth opportunities for small manufacturers are increasing. We will strengthen cooperation with private distribution platforms that have domestic and international networks, while actively expanding support to help small manufacturers grow quickly and boost their competitiveness.”
