[Financial News] The National Maritime Museum of Korea said on the 3rd that it had held an international exchange marine education program on the 30th of last month, when representative students from 14 elementary schools in Shimonoseki visited, to mark the 50th anniversary of the sister-city relationship between Busan Metropolitan City and Shimonoseki City, Japan.
The program was designed to help children understand and experience, through the history and culture of the Joseon Tongsinsa, the longstanding ties between Busan and Shimonoseki, which have maintained exchanges across the sea.
The program began with a lecture exploring the history of the Joseon Tongsinsa and cultural exchanges between Korea and Japan from a child’s perspective, followed by making Joseon Tongsinsa hats and viewing exhibitions related to the Joseon Tongsinsa.
Kim Jong-hae, director of the National Maritime Museum of Korea, said, "I hope this program will be a meaningful opportunity for children from Japan to understand the longstanding ties between Busan and Shimonoseki, experience each other’s cultures, and continue their exchanges."
Since 2024, the National Maritime Museum of Korea has continuously offered marine cultural education for overseas training delegations of elementary school students from Shimonoseki.
