[Financial News] Shinhan Bank is joining forces with Samsung Asset Management to provide investment information for retirement pension customers and strengthen its asset management services.
According to financial industry sources on the 3rd, Shinhan Bank signed an agreement with Samsung Asset Management on the 2nd at its headquarters in Jung District, Seoul, to support asset management for retirement pension customers. The signing ceremony was attended by Lee Jae-gyu, head of Shinhan Bank’s Wealth Management Solutions Group, and Kim Du-nam, head of Samsung Asset Management’s Customer Marketing Division.
Under the agreement, the two companies plan to draw on their respective expertise to provide investment information to retirement pension customers and support the systematic management of pension assets.
Key areas of cooperation include jointly providing content on market outlooks, asset allocation and pension investments; holding online and offline seminars and campaigns; and supporting financial market training for branch employees who advise customers.
Shinhan Bank has also been working to improve services to make it easier for retirement pension customers to invest in exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Last September, it introduced a same-day buy-and-sell service for retirement pension ETFs and partnered with Zeroin to let customers view real-time ETF trading values, price trends and holdings at a glance. Last month, it expanded the range of ETFs available for investment through retirement pension accounts to 300, broadening customers’ investment choices.
A Shinhan Bank representative said, “Following the expansion of ETF choices and improvements to trading convenience, our agreement with Samsung Asset Management has also enabled us to strengthen the provision of investment information. We will continue to draw on our capabilities as a bank specializing in wealth management to support pension asset management tailored to customers’ investment preferences and retirement goals, and expand the experience of ‘managed pension investing’ in ways customers can feel.”
